New affiliate marketers are anxious to be paid when they refer a sale, but you must remember that the product owner has to wait until the refund period is up. Typically you will be paid about 45 days after the sale is made, depending on their accounting system. You can always go in to the affiliate program and see how many sales you have made.
I recommend keeping track of your sales so that you know exactly what's happening. Some systems will notify you when you have made a sale, and some will even give you the name of the purchaser. This all depends on how it is set up and maintained by the product creator.
